EIU celebrates Holi festival of colors
Flamm Orchards hires around 130 to 150 workers per season to plant, tend to and process crops for thousands of families. Flamm Orchards is one of many farms in cooperation with Illinois’ statewide program to curb hunger and help stock food banks. Crops are sorted into categories where lesser-rated produce is donated to food banks.

University Police Department Chief Kent Martin hopes to begin training of ALICE, an active shooter response program on the campus of Eastern. The program, according to its website is the No. 1 active shooter civilian response training for organizations. Martin said you does not have to look far to see the benefits of the program.

Vidana suggested a mentoring program for all new students. She said while obtaining her Bachelor’s in England her mentor was very beneficial with basic things such as finding a grocery store and said all new students could benefit from a similar program.
