OverServed Gentlemen will perform at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Macs’ Uptowner, 623 Monroe Ave. Cover is $3 and patrons must be over 21 to enter.

OverServed Gentlemen offers a mixture of blues and rock ‘n’ roll styled music, similar to what Buddy Guy and Bad Company would sound like if they started a jam band.

Guitarist and vocalist Craig Baumann, bass guitarist Dan Kimpel and drummer Ethan Noordyk have been playing together as OverServed Gentleman for one year.

OverServed Gentlemen is currently promoting their new album “Pistachio Trail” on a tour that takes them “from Fargo to New Orleans.”

The band is traveling from Colorado to perform in Charleston before moving north to McHenry and then heading down to New Orleans for a week of shows.

The album got its name from trips the Wisconsin natives took to Green Bay.

“Someone would show up with a bag of pistachios, and we’d chuck the shells out of the window on the drive,” Baumann said. “If you wanted to find us, just follow the trail.”

Noordyk’s two-year-old son, Zander, attended rehearsals in Green Bay.

“We were playing around with different musical ideas, and many of the tracks on “Pistachio Trail” are the ones that Zander dug the most.

Baumann describes the sound of Pistachio Trail as “eclectic in rock and many American genres, but rooted in blues.”

The band has been in the studio recording their next album, which will “continue to explore rock, blues, soul, and Latin elements, Baumann said.

“We will continue to experiment infusing blues with other styles of music and push the boundaries of blues improvisation,” Baumann said.

“OverServed Gentlemen loves Macs’ Uptowner and the fine folks in Charleston,” Baumann said. “The sound at the Uptowner is among the finest, and the bartenders make you feel like you’re in your hometown pub.”

Baumann described an OverServed Gentlemen performance as a mix of styles with blues always as the foundation.

“We like to run the gamut of musical textures and grooves, ranging from Chicago blues to New Orleans funk, West Coast jazz to Texas swing. No matter where we go musically, you can always hear the heavy influence of the blues,” Baumann said. “We’re stoked to rock into Macs’ this weekend, hot off the pistachio trail from the Rocky Mountains.”
