The first Panther of the Week is going to Georgia Cox from the women’s basketball team.
The redshirt freshman forward from Ballarat, Australia, scored a career-high 18 points against Morehead State Thursday evening in Groniger Arena.
Cox went five for five for three-pointers along with three rebounds.
The Panthers went on to defeat the Eagles 100-46.
The second Panther of the Week is going to Lalani Ellis from the women’s basketball team.
The sophomore guard from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, scored the game-winning layup against Southern Indiana Saturday afternoon in Groniger Arena.
With about 11 seconds left in regulation, Ellis drove to the basket and made the contested layup while being fouled by Southern Indiana sophomore forward Amiyah Buchanan. Ellis also made the free throw due to the foul.
The Panthers defeated the Screaming Eagles 51-49 to go 10-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference so far in the season.
