The female Panther of the Week is going to Lexie Griffin from the softball team.
The senior catcher from Glen Carbon, Illinois, had seven hits in nine at bats to help Eastern to a sweep of Tennessee State to win the Ohio Valley Conference regular season title.
Griffin was named the OVC player of the week after clubbing two home runs in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader and added a double to give her a total of three extra base hits in the series and nine RBIs
Griffin and the Panthers became the second-ever three-peat champion in OVC history and enter the OVC tournament as the one-seed.
Eastern’s opponent is to be determined, but the Panthers will play at 12:30 on Thursday.

The male Panther of the Week is going to Dylan Drumke from the baseball team.
The graduate outfielder from Libertyville, Illinois, drove in six runs in Eastern’s three game sweep of SEMO.
Drumke had the eventual game winning RBI on Friday with a double to right field in the sixth inning. The Panthers added a run of insurance in a 5-3 victory.
On Sunday, Drumke hit his first home run of the season. It was a grand slam in the seventh inning to cap off a six run inning in Eastern’s 8-5 win in the series finale.
The Panthers are tied for first with SIUE, who they are hosting for a three-game series this weekend.
