The male Panther of the Week is going to Zion Fruster from the men’s basketball team.
The senior guard from Douglasville, Georgia averaged 18.5 points across both games last week for the Panthers.
Fruster scored 12 points and added six rebounds and two assists in the team’s 66-63 loss to Valparaiso on Tuesday.
On Friday, Fruster was the leading scorer in the team’s 65-57 win over Nicholls. He scored 25 points to lead the team.
The Panthers go back on the road for two games against teams from power four conferences. They’ll play Notre Dame on Tuesday and finish up the BBN United Tipoff Classic with a game at Kentucky on Friday.
The female Panther of the Week is going to Catalina Rochaix from the volleyball team.
The senior setter from Cordoba, Argentina totaled 76 assists across both games against Tennessee State last week.
In Friday’s game one, Rochaix picked up 32 assists in a three-set victory over the Tigers. Saturday’s game saw the Panthers win in four sets and increase the winning streak to 10 games. Rochaix finished that game with 44 assists and was awarded with her third OVC setter of the week award this season.
The Panthers have two games at home this week against the OVC-leading Morehead State Eagles.
