The male Panther of the Week is going to Connor Wolf from the football team.
The redshirt freshman quarterback from Ada, Michigan, set a program record for most passing yards in a game by a freshman during Eastern’s 42-30 loss to No. 4 Illinois State on Saturday.
Wolf completed 28 of his 43 passes for 411 yards and four touchdowns against the Redbirds. He became the first freshman quarterback in EIU history to throw for over 400 yards, and the ninth quarterback off all time to do so.
Wolf was named the freshman of the week by the Big South-Ohio Valley Conference in his first career start and was also named an honorable mention for the Stats Perform Football Championship Subdivision freshman of the week.

The female Panther of the week is going to Katie Kopshever from the volleyball team.
The sophomore outside hitter from Newburgh, Indiana, picked up 39 kills across Eastern’s three games at the Indiana State Sycamore Classic.
Kopshever had a season-high 16 kills in the Panthers’ only win on the weekend against Butler. Eastern lost the other two games on the weekend to Indiana State and Montana in four sets, before beating Butler in four sets to improve to 6-2 overall.
