Eastern Illinois softball loses to Miami Ohio in the elimination round in the NCAA Softball Regional game 4-0, putting a close to the 2022-23 season.

The Panthers finished their overall season with a record of 34-21, with their last two losses being at the NCAA Regional tournament at Northwestern.

Racheal Kaufman reached on an error and was able to move to third with a double provided by Lindy Milkowski.

Pitcher for Miami Brianna Pratt (31-10) had a complete shutout game, only allowing the Panthers to receive eight hits throughout the match.

Both Kendall Grover and Jaylen Prichard had two hits at the top of the line-up, as well as back-to-back singles in the seventh inning.

Kaufman helped load up the bases, but Pratt was able to complete a double play to shut out the game with a final score of 4-0.

Kaufman pitched 1.2 innings with three strikeouts.

OVC Pitcher of the year Olivia Price (16-6) allowed one run in the first inning and three more runs in the fifth.

Holly Blaska scored the first run for the RedHawks by a solo home run.

The other three runs were provided by Maddi Banks, Allie Cummins, and Karli Spaid due to a triple play in the fifth inning. Both Banks and Blaska were the only players for the RedHawks to have multiple hits in the game.
