We at The Daily Eastern News are always looking at ways to expand and grow what we provide to our readers.

We have recently been doing this by offering podcasts recorded by staff members at The News, and hope to have more podcasts drop in the future.

There are two podcasts we are currently producing. The first is “The Movie DEN,” in which News Editor Luke Taylor and Sports Editor Adam Tumino discuss movies on a weekly basis.

There are now seven available episodes of “The Movie DEN,” the most recent of which discusses the newest James Bond film “No Time to Die” and a look back at the classic 1965 Bond film “Goldfinger.”

Other episodes include discussions of movie musicals, the “Twilight” series and a lengthy episode on all 11 “Star Wars” movies featuring Multimedia Reporter Ryan Meyer as a guest.

The other podcast produced by The News is hosted by Meyer. It is called “Creative Outlet,” and it is about music and popular culture.

Five episodes of “Creative Outlet” are out, and the most recent episode features voice actor Joseph May, who was formerly the voice of Thomas the Tank Engine.

It also features retrospective album reviews, including Nirvana’s “Nevermind” and DIIV’s “Deceiver.” The first episode has Billy Yost of the Chicago-based indie rock band The Kickback.

As The News’ podcast network continues to grow, we will offer podcasts on different topics both on and off campus.

Those who are interested in being a part of our podcast network can reach out to us at 581-2812 or by emailing [email protected].

We are open to a wide variety of podcast topics and we would love to hear your ideas.

You can listen to all episodes of the podcasts online at dailyeasternnews.com right now and check for new episodes online and on our Facebook page.
