BSU forum to discuss mentality

Staff Report

The Black Student Union will host “Taking My Peace Back! Mental Health Awareness Forum” Tuesday evening in the Lumpkin auditorium from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

BSU President Jay Haver will be speaking at the forum as well as other members of the executive board.

Attendees will also be allowed to speak during the forum.

Haver said he feels the forum is an important topic of discussion.

“It’s not talked about enough in the black community,” Haver said.

He added that mental health is especially important to the black community at Eastern.

“I feel that a lot of students, especially at EIU, are looking for ways to express their problems but don’t really know how to cope with or express what’s going on,” Haver said.
