A lightning strike caused the fire at Hidden Treasures resale shop on Sunday.

According to a press release from the Charleston Fire Department, fire investigators and the investigator for the insurance company said the cause was determined as a result of the fire patterns and the thunderstorms in the area on Sunday.

The building, which also had an auto storage in the back, sustained heavy fire and smoke damage but the auto shop only sustained smoke damage and was filled with heavy smoke when crews arrived.

The auto shop only sustained smoke damage.
