Update: Doug Lawhead, a LAN support specialist II, who also teaches photojournalism classes in the journalism department, died after collapsing while at the Java Bean & Bakery in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union Thursday, James Tidwell, journalism department chairman confirmed. 

Lawhead was transported to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center by a Charleston Fire Department ambulance at noon and was declared dead at 12:20 p.m.

Lawhead received CPR while waiting for the paramedics to arrive.
