Baseball season comes to an end after OVC Tournament

The Eastern baseball season has come to an end after being eliminated from the OVC Conference Tournament.

After a win against SEMO in the OVC tournament, the Panthers lost back-to-back games against Jacksonville State and Murray State.

Senior pitcher Mike Recchia said the team seemed to lose energy after getting down against Murray State in the first two innings.

The Panthers finished the season with a record of 18-32.

Recchia said he felt the team played with a lot of heart.

Even though the team didn’t win the OVC tournament, Recchia said the team did learn a lot and progress as the season went on.

The Panthers plan to take what happened this season and build on it for next year.

Recchia said the team really grew as a family this year and learned to play together.

The overall season may have been disappointing, but Recchia said that things are only going to get better for the program.
