Classes after 5 p.m. canceled Tuesday

Updated at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27

Vice President for Student Affairs Dan Nadler sent out an e-mail to students at 3:30 p.m. today stating that classes scheduled after 5 p.m. this evening are canceled because of “deteriorating weather conditions,” according to the e-mail.

“As of right now, we are planning on having classes in the morning,” said Nadler.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until midnight tonight. Everyone should keep an eye on the Eastern Web page for further updates and any changes, Nadler said, or go to www.eiu.edu/~status/.

The Panther Shuttle service also sent out an e-mail this afternoon saying that the service will stop after 5 p.m. tonight, also because of weather conditions, and will resume at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow.
