RHA fills committee positions

Two out of the three committee positions were filled at Thursday’s Residence Hall Association meeting.

Brian McGuigan was appointed to the Student Affairs Campus Safety Committee.

Keith Darby was also appointed to the Student Government Tuition Fees and Review Committee.

The RHA Executive Board is still deciding the Student Housing Committee position.

“(Brian) will be giving us a voice on campus safety,” said Carrie Mueller, RHA president. “Student Government asked we appoint a representative to their committee.”

Lindsay DiPietro, the president of the National Residence Hall Honorary, announced that NRHH is starting their yearly selection process for new members.

NRHH is a student leadership group that is dedicated to community service and service towards the campus, DiPietro said.

To apply for NRHH membership, a student needs to talk to a current NRHH member and then will have to fill out an application.

Interested students need a minimum 2.25 cumulative GPA and have to have lived in housing last semester and this semester.

RHA is also preparing for the Winter Olympics activities, which is set to begin in two weeks.

RHA approved funding for members to attend the African American Heritage Banquet on February 2 to represent RHA’s support for the African American community.

Three members plan on attending and others are still welcomed.
