Around Illinois Campuses: Students, faculty look for changes to Fine arts buildings

Students and faculty hope to see renovations in the future for the College of Fine Arts buildings. The College of Fine Arts will be seeing some alterations in its future.

“All three of the College of Fine Arts buildings are in serious need of either renovation or demolition,” Don LaCasse, director of the school of theatre, said.

“I hope building new facilities is considered in the mix of ideas,” LaCasse said.

The plan is to demolish the worst parts of the buildings, rebuild and rehab areas that have the ability to be conserved.

“It will cost about $32 million and we will proceed in the same way as we have with Schroeder Hall,” Bowman said.
