– Trisha Walter “All that she did for us didn’t show up in the stat sheet but she still had a great game (in the championship game).”

– LeeAnne Langsfeld “She bolstered our defense again throughout the tournament.”

– Rachel Dorman “(In the championship game) she played the best game I’ve ever seen her play.”

– Audra Frericks “She was the tournament’s MVP for a reason, she is somebody who brings everything she has to the field.”

OVC Game Results

*9/24 at AUSTIN PEAY : W 2-0 (5-3, 1-0)

Game Recap: Audra Frericks and Michelle Steinhaus combined for Eastern’s two goals on the team’s way to their first OVC win of the season.

*9/26 at Tennessee Tech : T 2-2 (2-OT) (5-3-1,1-0-1)

Game Recap: Audra Frericks and Sharyne Connell scored both goals for the Panthers, but a late goal from Tennessee Tech forced the game to finish in a tie.

*10/1 vs. MOREHEAD STATE : W 4-0 (6-3-1, 2-0-1)

Game Recap: Sharyne Connell netted two goals in Eastern’s solid victory over the Golden Eagles in response to the team’s tie against Tennessee Tech.

*10/8 at Jacksonville State : L 0-1 (6-4-2, 2-1-1)

Game Recap: Eastern’s lone conference loss during the regular season came to a Jacksonville State squad that didn’t even make the OVC tournament. Panther coach Steve Ballard felt that his team’s play against the Gamecocks was the flattest he had seen all year.

*10/10 at SAMFORD : W 1-0 (7-4-2, 3-1-1)

Game Recap: Eastern handed Samford its only conference loss on Trisha Walter’s goal that came shortly after halftime.

* 10/15 vs. MURRAY STATE : W 2-0 (8-4-2, 4-1-1)

Game Recap: Michelle Steinhaus scored her first multi-goal game of her career against the Racers as Eastern recorded their seventh shutout of the season.

*10/17 vs. TENNESSEE-MARTIN : W 3-1 (9-4-2, 5-1-1)

Game Recap: All three Eastern goals came in the second half of play. Michelle Steinhaus, Trisha Walter and Sharyne Connell were responsible for the goals.

*10/22 vs. SOUTHEAST MISSOURI : W 2-1 (OT) (10-4-2, 6-1-1)

Game Recap: On senior day at Lakeside Field, freshman Michelle Steinhaus continued her hot play when she scored the game-winning goal with only a few ticks left on the clock.

10/24 at Southwest Missouri : L 0-2 (10-5-2, 6-1-1)

10/27 at Western Illinois : W 5-1 (11-5-2, 6-1-1)

*11/5 (#2) Eastern vs. (#3) Murray State : W 4-0 (12-5-2, 6-1-1)

Game Recap: Trisha Walter’s two goals catapulted the Panthers past the Racers and into the OVC championship game.

*11/7 (#2) Eastern at (#1) Samford : W 3-2 (13-5-2, 6-1-1)

Game Recap: Two goals, by Morgan Frericks and Sharyne Connell, in the final three minutes gave Eastern their fourth straight OVC tournament title.
