Austin Peay defeated both the men’s basketball team (86-64) and the women’s basketball team (103-69). But this time Eastern is going to Pack the Pit.

Lantz Arena has been kind to the men’s basketball team with 22 consecutive home victories while the women have continued to show improvements over the course of the season.

The athletic department has used Thursday night’s games to initiate the slogan “Pack the Pit” for both the men’s and women’s basketball games to encourage the fans to come out and support the teams.

“We want to pack the pit every game, but this game is the beginning of a stretch run of great basketball at home wrapped around away games,” said Dave Kidwell, director of sports information and marketing.
