More than 100 new and old students piled into the Grand Ballroom Thursday night to dance and make friends during the New Student Mixer Silent Dance Party for part of the Easterns Welcome Weekend.
Eastern welcomes students with silent dance party
Kymoni Dixon, a sophomore majoring in exercise science for physical therapy, works at Thomas Dining hall, swiping cards. Dixon said she likes the convenience of having an on-campus job although being a student worker can become hectic.
Taylor Dining to stop serving dinner
The gates of the castle outside of Old Main could be seen Wednesday afternoon where the Lantanas are in bloom. Part of Levi Lee’s job as Grounds Gardener is selecting the annual flower beds. He is in charge of selecting the plants for different areas across campus from Old Main to Greek Court.
Eastern to host open-sessions for employee, labor relations director next week

Alisa Hill, a senior political science major, has overcome several challenges to be able to get accepted into Northern Illinois University’s master’s in public administration program. While at Eastern, Hill has never received less than a 3.0, earning multiple scholarships as well as the TRiO Achiever Award and being named Eastern’s Top Black Scholar.
