This week, Eastern’s Greek life will have their annual Greek Week where about 30 fraternities and sororities face off in an intense series of competitions for strictly bragging rights.

The week’s events will start with a game of tug of war at the Eastern Illinois pond Monday at 4 p.m. where two teams will attempt to pull each other in the pond and drench them with defeat.

On Tuesday, guest speaker Guillermo Flores will talk with fraternities about how to improve social media management at 7 p.m.

Fraternity and Sorority Appreciation Day will be on Wednesday where they will play the semi-finals round of tug of war at 4 p.m. with their championship final taking place on Friday at noon.

On Thursday, there will be an Order of Omega Case Study Competition from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. where two teams solve current issues in fraternities and present their solutions to see who is the most capable at maintaining a healthy Greek environment. The day will also see an intense Airband dress rehearsals where Greek life will practice their dance moves and silent instrument skills.

The week will conclude with the official Airband performances where many groups will face to be declared the winner.
