Editor-in-Chief Corryn Brock, a senior journalism major, placed first in the Multimedia Reporting category.
The staff also placed second in Front Page Layout.
Two members of the staff, Photo Editor Ashanti Thomas, a sophomore digital media technology major, and Assistant Photo Editor Rob Le Cates, a freshman journalism major, placed in the ICPA photo shootout. Thomas placed second and Le Cates third.

• Staff – Online News Site
The News competed in the daily division.
Joe Gisondi, Director of Student Publications and adviser to The News said he “couldn’t be prouder of this staff.”
“No challenge has been too difficult. They’ve revamped the website, re-invigorated social and multimedia coverage, developed an impressive weekly print edition, and continue to make a difference on campus with timely, investigative reporting. That they won this many awards against the state’s largest programs is not really a surprise.”
Brock said she is proud of the staff for their hard work through trying times.
“I cannot put into words how amazed I am by my staff. Through redesigning our website and newspaper, going from daily to weekly printing and all of the struggles that came from COVID-19, my staff has persevered and exceeded my expectations and goals for the year,” Brock said. “I could not ask for better people to have by my side.”
