Free kids activities to be available at the Charleston Public Library

Staff Report

Charleston Carnegie Public Library will be providing free craft activities for local kids and teens next week.

On June 7 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, all ages can participate in a fabric stenciling activity to decorate their own t-shirt, tank top, bandana, bag, or any other item.

Attendees can bring whatever dark-colored cotton item they would like to decorate, and the library will provide stencils and bleach for the activity.

This activity will occur at the KidSpace patio. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

June 7-13, kids and teens ages 8-18 can pick up black scratch art paper and wooden styluses to make an at-home art project.

The materials will be available at the KidSpace desk as supplies last.

Parents are advised to help children under 12 with the project as the wooden styluses can be sharp.

All of these activities are free to the public and do not require a library card to participate.
