The schedules for both the Eastern men’s and women’s soccer teams were released Wednesday afternoon.

They join the football team, whose scheduled was announced earlier in the month, and the volleyball team, whose schedule was announced Tuesday, as teams who will be playing in the spring.

Men’s Soccer

The men’s team will play 10 conference games and one non-conference game. The non-conference game will actually open the season when the Panthers play Bradley on the road on Feb. 3.

Their next match will be their conference opener. It will be on Feb. 13 against Western Illinois.

The middle eight games on the schedule will basically consist of four two-game series against conference opponents.

These matches will be held on successive Thursdays and Saturdays.

Eastern will play Oral Roberts o the road on Feb. 18 and 20, Kansas City at home on March 4 and 6, Omaha on the road March 18 and 20 and Denver at home April 1 and 3 before closing out the season with a home match against Western Illinois April 10.

Kansas City is back in the Summit League for the first time since 2013, replacing Purdue Fort Wayne.

Going back to last season, Eastern finished fifth in the Summit League with a conference record of 1-2-2. There will be no Summit League Tournament this year.

Women’s Soccer

For the women’s soccer team, the season will open March 2 against Tennessee-Martin. The Panthers will play 10 matched all together, playing each OVC opponent one time, five at home and five on the road. In addition to the opener, the road matches will be March 12 against Tennessee Tech, March 19 against Belmont, March 26 against Austin Peay and April 5 against Murray State, the final match of the season.

The home matches will be March 5 against Morehead State, March 9 against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, March 16 against Southeast Missouri, March 23 against Eastern Kentucky and March 30 against Jacksonville State.

Eastern finished last season eighth in the OVC with a conference record of 2-5-3 with the wins coming against Jacksonville State and Morehead State. The Panthers also beat Tennessee Tech in the first round of the OVC Tournament, which will be held April 15 this season.
