Tredaja Harris, a 17-year-old senior from Mt. Vernon Township High School, sorts through books and picked one out to skim through Friday afternoon outside of Bob’s Bookstore. Harris is attending the Illinois High School Association State Track and Field finals and competed in the 100 and 200 meter dash, placing fifth. She said she will have one more race, the 400 meter dash, at 4 p.m. on Saturday and hopes to do to better as well as get back to school in time for graduation, which will be at 8 p.m. the same day. She said though it is a good way to end her senior year, Harris said it could be better.
