The Coles County Meth Awareness Coalition will host a fundraiser at 7 a.m. Saturday at Charleston’s Veterans of Foreign Wars facility, 1821 20th St.

Admission is $5. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee and juice will be served.

Proceeds will benefit the coalition.

Deadline for banquet tickets Friday

The deadline to purchase tickets for the Latino Heritage Month Banquet is Friday. The banquet is on Sept. 14. Tickets may be purchased in the Gateway office, 2170 Blair Hall.

Admission is $8 for students and $15 for adults.

The banquet will feature a performance by Hector Silveira y su Orquestra and a DJ.
