Pink Panthers host try outs this Saturday

Auditions for the Pink Panthers will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Lantz Arena.

Try-outs will begin with jazzercise and then progress to technique. All the girls will learn two dances of different styles and perform them while being judged.

To qualify, a student must have and maintain a 2.0 grade point average and be a full time student.

The judges will also be looking for certain technique skills: a double pirouette, axle jump, leap of the dancer’s choice and toe touch.

Creationism and evolution on the docket for lecture

Speaker and retired Geology-Geography professor Alan Baharlou will present a speech titled “Creationism vs. Evolutionism” as part of University Board’s Uncovered lecture series.

The speech is at 8 p.m. today in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union Grand Ballroom.

UB hosts Open Mic Night today

University Board will sponsor another Open Mic Night tonight. Food and decorations will grace 7th Street Underground as amateurs are allowed to show their talents.

Open Mic Night starts at 8 p.m. today.
