Session deals with fear

Facing your fears is an important issue, and the Counseling Center will try to help students do that through a discussion called “Fear.”

The “Fear” lecture will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Effingham Room of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

The fears people have about self-protection, safety for themselves and others, past experiences and negativity will be discussed, said Sandy Cox, assistant director of the Counseling Center.

The Life Skills Program, which is part of the counseling center, will focus on skills that can help eliminate these fears, as well as others.

Cox said she will help identify issues people hold back within themselves and from other people.

“We find people who do not listen to their intuition and find themselves in a negative situation,” Cox said. “Some fears can lead to harm.”

The discussion is free and open to the public.
