REGISTRATION PAYMENTS, UNCLEAR RECORDS.

If you registered for Summer, your RECORD MUST BE CLEAR with all University offices BY THURS., APRIL 25 OR YOUR SUMMER CLASSES WILL BE CANCELED.

If you registered for Fall, your RECORD MUST BE CLEAR with all University offices BY FRIDAY, AUG. 16 OR YOUR FALL CLASSES WILL BE CANCELED.

INTERSESSION CREDIT/NO CREDIT, AUDITS

Use PAWS (WEB) or a touch-tone telephone to request credit/no credit grading status for an Intersession class no late than May 10. You must first be registered in the class.

You must request audit grading status for an Intersession class by completing the audit form (obtained in the Registration Office or from Registration’s WEB page, accessed through www.eiu.edu), having it signed by the instructor of the class, and returning it to the Registration Office by May 10. You must first be registered in the class.

AVOID SUMMER LATE REGISTRATION FEE.

To avoid being charged the $25 late registration fee for Summer 8WK/4WK1 Terms, register for 8WK/4WK1 classes no later than Tuesday, June 4. This deadline applies to students who are not attending Intersession.

INTERSESSION ADDS/DROPS/CANCELLATIONS

You may add an Intersession class through May 9. The only Intersession classes that may be added after May 9 are workshops offered during Intersession.

You may drop an Intersession class through May 10 at 4 p.m., and the class will not appear on your permanent record AND you will not be billed for the class. The only Intersession class that may be dropped after May 10 and still not appear on your record (and not be billed to you) is a workshop that is dropped BEFORE IT BEGINS.

If you wish to cancel you Intersession classes, you must drop your Intersession classes or notify the Registration Office in writing by May 10 to have the advance deposit refunded and not be billed further. This refund deadline applies if you registered ONLY for Intersession classes.

TEXTBOOK RENTAL RETURN DEADLINE

Avoid long lines, return your textbooks early to Textbook Rental Service. Deadline to return books is Friday, May 3rd at 3:00 p.m. to avoid late fees. Extended hours of operation are Tuesday, April 30th, Wednesday, May 1st, and Thursday, May 2nd from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

STUDENT SUMMER INSURANCE

Student who will not be enrolled in the Summer Term are eligible to purchase Summer Health Insurance provided the student was insured for Spring Semester 2002 with insurance coverage under the Student Insurance Plan. The premium for Summer 2002 Student Insurance is $42.50. Enrollment cards are available in the Financial Aid Office, Student Services Building. Coverage effective dates for Summer 2002 Semester are 6-10-02 through 8-22-02. The deadline for submitting a completed enrollment card and payment of $42.50 is June 10. 2002.

If you are graduating or do not plan to be at least a half-time student at EIU next Semester, it is mandatory to complete an exit interview. Failure to do so will result in a COMPLETE HOLD being placed on your University record. Interviews will be held in the office of Student Accounts, South side Old Main, at Cashier’s entrance on April 8,9,23, and April 24, 2002. ILLINOIS TEACHER CERTIFICATION EXAMS

All applicants for Illinois teaching certificates (or administrative or school service personnel certificates) must pass the Illinois Certification Tests before being issued a certificate. Each applicant must pass the ICTS Basic Skills Test and the appropriate subject-matter knowledge test(s). It is suggested that the Basic Skills Test be taken early in one’s college career and the subject-matter test(s) be taken after the completion of all or most of the courses in one’s major. Since these dates are given only four times each year, interested individuals should be aware of the dates and deadlines listed below. Anyone having questions concerning these exams, or needing to pick up registration forms, study guides or needing assistance may contact the College of Education and Professional Studies in Room 1420 Buzzard Hall.

CHARLESTON BPW SCHOLARSHIP

The Charleston Business and Professional Women Local Organization is accepting applications for a college scholarship to Eastern Illinois University. This scholarship is for a resident of the Charleston area. The Charleston BPW has awarded an annual scholarship since 19996. Application must be returned by May 10, 2002, along with a high school and college (if attended) transcripts that demonstrate at lease a B average, a letter of acceptance from EIU, and two letters of recommendation.
