Kuhl suspended from teaching for defacing property

An Eastern graduate student, who was arrested by the Eastern police for defacing campus property with graffiti, is now suspended from teaching an art laboratory class.

Glenn Hild, chair of the art department, said Tuesday that Frank J. Kuhl was suspended from teaching a class he had taught prior to his arrest on March 13, because he was suspended by Judicial Affairs.

Keith Kohanzo, officer of Judicial Affairs, refused to comment Wednesday about the suspension because of student privacy rights.

Kuhl, 27, of 16 W. Polk Street was arrested at 5:13 a.m. March 13 on the charge of criminal defacement of property, police reports said.

The University Police Department responded to a call put in by an Eastern employee.

Kuhl was arrested for allegedly spray-painting more than 20 locations on campus including Old Main, Life Science Building, Thomas Hall and the steam plant, as well as various sidewalks, fences and dumpsters throughout campus.
