Senate gets sneak peek at Web grades

The Faculty Senate will get a firsthand look at the future of grade submission Tuesday at Ninth Street Hall.

Today’s senate meeting has been moved to Ninth Street Hall so senate members can view the process by which all faculty will soon be able to submit their final semester grades electronically.

The meeting offers the senate a chance to get up to speed on the new Web grade submission process before most of Eastern faculty. Starting next week, on Oct. 31, training dates will be offered for the entire faculty to learn the new process.

The Halloween training sessions are at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Additional session will be held that Friday, Nov. 1, also at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

If faculty miss next week’s training session, they will have to wait until the end of November. The final training sessions are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Nov. 28 and 29.

Faculty should call the Records Office at 581-3511 to sign up for a training session. If a faculty member cannot make a scheduled session, they should contact the Records Office to schedule alternative training.

To participate in a training session faculty members must know their PIN number. Faculty members who do not know their PIN number should contact Human Resources/Benefits at 581-5825.

Today’s senate meeting will take place at the regular time, 2 p.m., but will be held at Ninth Street Hall.
