RHA to discuss allocating fees

The Residence Hall Association will discuss possibly allocating student fees to support a Student Senate proposed Recognized Student Organization booklet.

The RHA will meet at 5 p.m. today in Ford Hall.

The booklet will serve as a guide to the RSOs at Eastern and will be handed out to incoming students during orientation, said RHA President Alison Mormino.

Also, with Student Senate elections scheduled for next week, the RHA will have to decide whether it will endorse candidates this year.

Each year, the Student Senate Endorsement Committee, which is made up of eight volunteer members of the RHA, decide which candidates to formally endorse after reviewing each candidate’s political platform, Mormino said.

The RHA will have to decide by tonight if the endorsement process will prove itself timely enough since elections are six days away, she said.

In other business, RHA members will discuss whether to continue Campus Perk. The RHA-funded coffeehouse has provided free coffee to students in the basement of Thomas Hall every Monday and Thursday night for the past two years.

Attendance at Campus Perk has been steadily declining since SONOR started 7th Street Underground, Mormino said.
