ODK accepting new member nominations

The Eastern chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership society, is accepting nominations for new membership candidates.

ODK is a relatively new service organization on campus, dedicated to bringing together a variety of both undergraduate and graduate students who excel in leadership and versatility, said Chris Clark, president of EIU Circle.

Clark said to be considered as a candidate, students must have achieved leadership skills in at least one of the following areas: scholarship; athletics; campus or community service; journalism, speech and mass media; or creative and performing arts.

In addition, candidates must rank at least in the upper 35 percent of their academic class and be at least a junior, senior or graduate student, he said.

Applications to apply for membership to ODK are available through James Tidwell, professor of journalism in Room 2540 Buzzard Hall. The cost for applying to ODK is $65 which is refunded if the applicant is not accepted for membership.

Deadline for applications is 4 p.m. March 23.
