Homecoming court nominations open for voting

Eastern’s 2022 Homecoming starts next week on Oct. 10, and Eastern has opened the survey to vote for the 2022 Homecoming Court.

The Homecoming Court Coronation is on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union. 

During the coronation a Homecoming King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Faculty/Staff Lady, Faculty/Staff Lord, Little Prince and Little Princess is crowned.

This year there are five Homecoming King candidates, 12 Queen candidates, two Prince candidates, eight Princess candidates, one Faculty/Staff Lady candidate and three Faculty/Staff Lord candidates.

There are no Little Prince or Princess candidates at this time.

The five Homecoming candidates are: 

  1. Lesly Nazon, a marketing major, representing the Black Student Union
  2. Daniel “Danny” Dally, a political science major, representing the Political Science Association
  3. Michael Barth, a kinesiology education major, representing Sigma Phi Epsilon
  4. Yoonjin Kim, a marketing major, representing Sigma Chi
  5. Nile Hill, a management major, representing Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

The 12 Homecoming Queen candidates are:

  1. Ciera Terry, a biology major, representing Alpha Sigma Alpha
  2. Abriana Ruiz, a communication disorders and sciences major, representing Kappa Delta
  3. Grace Hammond, a special education major, representing Delta Zeta
  4. Olivia Lane, a public relations major, representing Alpha Phi
  5. Blanca Vilella, a political science major, representing Sigma Sigma Sigma
  6. Grace Edwards, a nursing major, representing Pemberton Hall
  7. Alana McNeely, a human services program administration major, representing Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
  8. Jaedah Franks, a biology major, representing the Black Student Union
  9. Emmalee Sherwood, an elementary education major, representing Alpha Gamma Delta
  10. Bethany Huhman, a psychology major, representing Alpha Sigma Tau
  11. Daisha Mitchell, a human services major, representing the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, NAACP
  12. Gina Kirshenbaum, an early childhood education major, representing Delta Delta Delta

The two Homecoming Prince candidates are:

  1. Luke Denny, a business analytics and information systems major, representing Sigma Chi
  2. Garrett Wilkin, a kinesiology education major, representing Sigma Phi Epsilon

The eight Homecoming Princess candidates are:

  1. Bella Manrique, a nursing major, representing Kappa Delta
  2. Lauren Jackson, a special education major, representing Alpha Sigma Alpha
  3. Delany Gray, an early childhood education major, representing Alpha Phi
  4. Morgaine Cornish, a political science major, representing Sigma Sigma Sigma
  5. Delaney Murphy, a nursing major, representing Alpha Gamma Delta
  6. Josi Miller, an early childhood education major, representing Alpha Sigma Tau
  7. Emery Johnson, an English education major, representing Pemberton Hall
  8. Anahi Osorio, an exercise science major, representing Eastern’s campus recreation department

The only Homecoming Faculty/Staff Lady candidate is Brittany Tierney, an associate director of admissions.

The three Homecoming Faculty/Staff Lord candidates are:

  1. John Morris, an instructor and undergraduate advisor for the political science department
  2. Gary Bulla, a professor and chair of the department of biological sciences
  3. Cameron Craig, an instructor of geology and geography

Homecoming COurt voting will be active now until Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. Only currently enrolled students may cast a vote with only one vote for each category.
