Student Government opens elections for 2022-23 academic year

The Student Government elections for the 2022-2023 academic year are open for voting until midnight on Friday.

On Monday, the Student Government elections opened for students to vote for next year’s student body president and executive vice president and for a new term for five senators.

There are currently no candidates for vice president of student affairs or vice president of academic affairs.

Voting deadline has been extended from midnight on Tuesday to midnight on Friday.

There is only one candidate for both student body president and executive vice president.

The candidate for student body president is the current executive vice president Payton Ade.

Ade is a sophomore interpersonal communications major and has been involved with student government since the fall 2020 semester.

The candidate for executive vice president is Connor Mellott, a current student senator.

Mellott is a freshman public relations major and has been involved with student government since the fall 2021 semester.

The five students running for a 2022-2023 student senator term are Brianna Hull-Dennis, Mahlet Mulugeta, Krishna Raju, Karolina Guzek and Lesly Mendoza.
