There is a busy weekend coming up for several of Eastern’s teams. 

Five teams will be in competition between Friday and Sunday, with some teams looking to pick up conference wins and others opening their seasons. 

 

Volleyball vs. Southeast Missouri, Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Eastern volleyball team will be  in action this weekend when they take the floor in Lantz Arena Friday evening. 

The Panthers will play Southeast Missouri in the third series of conference matches this season. Eastern has already played series with Murray State and Tennessee-Martin and a midweek match against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. 

The Panthers will be looking for their first OVC win against the Redhawks, who are 3-2 in conference play. 

 

Men’s Tennis, Illinois State Redbird Invite, Friday-Sunday

The men’s tennis team will compete in its final meet of the fall season this weekend in Normal. 

The Panthers will be one of eight teams competing in the Illinois State Redbird Invite, joining host Illinois State, Bellarmine, DePaul, Marquette, UIC, Saint Louis and Drake. 

 

Men’s Soccer vs. Omaha,  Saturday at Noon

The Eastern men’s soccer team and its 1-1 conference record will be put to the test against Omaha at Lakeside Field. 

The Panthers beat Summit League opponent St. Thomas 1-0 in their last home match on Sept. 25. 

 

Men’s and Women’s Swimming vs. Evansville, Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Eastern swimming teams will open a new season Saturday by hosting Evansville in the Padovan Pool. 

The Panthers will be under the direction of a new head coach in Tyler Donges, who took over on Sept. 13. 

Last season, the men’s team was 3-3 and the women’s team was 2-5. 

 

Women’s Soccer at Tennessee Tech, Sunday    at 1 p.m.

The Eastern women’s soccer team will be the final team to take the field for Eastern this weekend. 

The Panthers will be taking their 1-1-1 conference record on the road to Tennessee Tech. 

Eastern had its game with Southern Illinois-Edwardsville postponed Thursday. 

The Panthers lost 1-0 in overtime against Tennessee Tech last season.
