Charleston library to open Jan. 25

The Charleston Carnegie Public Library will open its doors to the public Jan. 25 as the region moves into Tier 1 mitigations.

The hours for the library will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, curbside services on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Face masks will be required inside the library and maintain social distancing as well as keep their visit under one hour. The library asks that patrons are patient as they adjust to the new rules and regulations.

For those unable to wear a mask, the library will provide curbside services for picking up items, printing, copying, scanning and faxing. Those with needs not listed can contact the library at 217-345-4913 and they may be able to make accommodations for other services.

Computers will be available for up to an hour of use.

Study rooms A and B will be available for reservation for up to an hour with limited capacity. The rotary rooms, craft room, reading room and conference will not be open to the public.

The library will be able to utilize SHARE and bring in items from any library in its consortium.
