Today is Jan.28 2020. Here are the five things happening today on Eastern’s campus you need to know.

1. College of Education dean candidate visited campus

Loretta Henderson, a candidate for the College of Education’s open dean position, visited campus on Monday and delivered her plan to a panel at Booth Library. Henderson’s plan is built around securing more funds so Eastern can facilitate projects to support the COE. Full story:

2. Proposal to increase housing rates tabled by BOT

The Board of Trustees voted at its meeting Friday to table a proposal that would raise housing rates at Eastern by 2.3 percent for residence halls and Greek Court buildings. Full Story:

3. College of Education dean candidate coming Tuesday

Eastern will be hosting another COE dean candidate Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the 4440 room of Booth Library.

4. Women’s tennis team drops three weekend matches

Eastern’s women’s tennis team lost three matches this weekend, losing to Illinois State, Illinois and Eastern Michigan. The Panthers did however beat Milwaukee. Full story:

5. Eastern swim teams see mixed results

Eastern women’s swimming beat Lewis University this weekend 138-1227, but Eastern’s men’s team fell to Lewis 168-98 at the five-team Butler Invitational this weekend. Full story:
