The first season’s last episode of “THE END OF THE F***ING WORLD” left everyone on a big cliffhanger—James possibly getting shot by law enforcement. Instead of finding out if James was dead, alive, badly hurt or anything in between, the first episode of the second season introduced everyone to a new character’s story. That new character’s name is Bonnie, and it’s clear from the start that she has a very troubled background.

Bonnie works at a college’s library where she grows fascinated by a philosophy professor: Clive Koch. Remember him? He’s the guy who almost sexually assaulted Alyssa in the first season, and he had a collection of incriminating videos showing him harming and even possibly killing a number of women.

Bonnie falls in love with the professor and becomes viciously jealous of his flings with other college students—so jealous that she kills one of them and ends up in prison.

From there she learns that Alyssa and James were the suspects, but she doesn’t have the full story. She’s out to get both of them.

Meanwhile, Alyssa and James are leading very different lives than before. Alyssa is on the verge of getting married, and James is lost without a purpose.

We’re simultaneously excited and restless to see the second season continue with its addition to several new stories. Listen on to hear how we thought the episodes handled so much new information in so little time.
