O’Brien Field to host IHSA girls track, field state semifinals, finals

The Illinois High School Association’s Girls Track and Field state semifinals and finals are coming to O’Brien Field Thursday through Saturday.

All the semifinals in class 1A will be held on Thursday.

The field events, including pole vault, long jump, triple jump and high jump, will all begin at 10 a.m.

The track events for class 2A will begin at 11 a.m. and conclude at 2:45 p.m.

All the semifinals in classes 2A and 3A will commence on Friday.

The long jump, triple jump and high jump will all begin at 8 a.m. The shot put and pole vault begin at 9 a.m. with discus beginning at 10:55 a.m.

The track events for class 2A will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at 12:22 p.m.

Class 3A’s long jump, triple jump and high jump begin at noon; pole vault begins at 12:30 p.m.; shot put begins at 1:05 p.m.; and discus begins at 2:45 p.m.

Class 3A’s track events begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 4:26 p.m.

The finals for all events in all classes (1A, 2A, 3A and the wheelchair division) will be held on Saturday.

The long jump, triple jump, shot put, pole vault and high jump all begin at 10 a.m. Discus begins at 12:30 p.m.

The field events begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. with team awards.
