UPD enforcing summer parking

Staff Report

Eastern’s University Police Department is enforcing parking rules and regulations over the summer, so students driving to school still need to purchase permits to avoid receiving citations.

UPD is enforcing the summer parking Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon, according to Eastern’s newsletter.

Open parking is available during any summer breaks at the regular staff lots, student lots and Martin Luther King Jr. University Union metered spaces. A summer break is any week classes are not in session, according to the newsletter.

With regard to open parking, “Ticketing only occurs in spaces specifically marked as 24-hour lots, 15-minute metered spaces, no parking zones, and designated handicap spaces,” the newsletter says.

Summer permits are available for purchase at https://eiuparking.t2hosted.com/Account/Portal. Parking Services is available at 581-5416 for any questions.
