A water main break in the Wal-Mart parking lot at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday caused University Village, Campus Pointe and Kentucky Fried Chicken to be under boil orders.

Wal-Mart itself was not affected, director of public works Curt Buescher said.

The orders will be in effect for 24 hours after a water test is taken.

Buescher said any water being used by residents or those working in these places should be brought to a rolling boil for at least five minutes.
