Humanities lecture canceled due to illness

Thursday night’s lecture, “How Animals Grieve” by Barbara King in the Lecture Hall in the Doudna Fine Arts Center, has been canceled due to an illness, King said.

King said “How Animals Grieve” was to focus on how animals feel sadness and the concept of animal suicides.

“Animals do get sad, elephants have funerals for other elephants that have died,” King said.

Charles Wharram, the director of the Center for Humanities, said the lecture has not yet been rescheduled and is to be released at a later date.
