Airbrush artist to entertain during the UB Rush Hour

The University Board will showcase an airbrush artist today during the “UB Rush Hour.”

The artist will airbrush different items for students under the bridge lounge outside of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

Scott Wilde, an airbrush artist from Fun Enterprises, Inc. will airbrush hats and tote bags from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fun Enterprises, Inc. is a company based out of South Weymouth, Mass. that specializes in novelty and variety entertainment.

The company has previously worked at UB events on campus, including Quakin’ in the Quad and Up All Night.

Otis Seawood, the special events coordinator for the University Board, said the company has received great reviews from past events, and he said he feels students will enjoy the airbrush artist.

Wilde was originally stationed in New England, but he travels most of the year with Fun Enterprises, Inc. touring company.

Diane Comstock, national program and touring specialist for Fun Enterprises, Inc., said she has worked with Wilde on many events.

She described Wilde as personable and helpful.

“He’ll talk with anyone that would want to come and learn about airbrushing,” Comstock said.

Wilde has been with Fun Enterprises, Inc. for six years.

Wilde joined Fun Enterprises, Inc. as a caricature artist, but they wanted all caricature artists to be familiar with airbrushing as well. Comstock said Wilde was able to learn from other artists in the company.

“He’s a big fan of cartooning, but also a great air brusher,” Comstock said.

Alyssa Anderson, the University Board vice chairwoman, said the event will be on a first come, first serve basis due to the fact that there is a limited amount of hats and totes available.

“We hope this event will get a lot of students involved,” Anderson said.
