Lupe Fiasco concert tickets still available

About 2,200 tickets have sold for the Lupe Fiasco concert with less than 1,000 available for the general public and Eastern students.

“There are only 800 tickets left,” said Sheila Hurley, University Board concerts coordinator. “I’m most excited for the day of the show, as soon as everything goes as planned. It should be fun and a mixed crowd.”

Tickets still available are reserved, or assigned balcony seats. Floor seats have sold out.

Ceci Brinker, director of Student Life, said setup for the concert will begin around 4 p.m. Friday and continue at noon Saturday.

“Artists will be arriving late afternoon for sound check,” Brinker said.

The stadium-style show will start at 8 p.m. on Saturday in Lantz Arena and it is stadium style with floor and balcony seats. Brinker said the number 3,000 is an estimate because stage size might change the amount of tickets available.

“The size of the stage depends on how many tickets will be sold,” Brinker said. “If the stage is bigger, then there will be less space and fewer tickets available.”

Hurley said this was all coordinated with Fiasco’s stage manager.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and students can get tickets at the door if they have not sold out.

Hurley hopes that students will take advantage of this opportunity and purchase tickets while they last.

Tom Usher, UB concerts coordinator elect, said this ticket projection is lower than the UB originally expected.

“It’s lower,” he said. “I think people are waiting until the last minute to get their tickets.”

Tickets are $10 for students with their Panther Card and $20 for the general public and will be on sale at the ticket office on the day of the concert. The ticket office number is 581-5122.
