Workshop to be held tonight

With finals week quickly approaching, students will be given the opportunity to relax and relieve stress at the Counseling Center’s “Can You Come Over to Play?” workshop to be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Effingham Room of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

Cara Pschirrer, a graduate student in community counseling and one of three interns directing the workshop, said the purpose is to help students deal with the stress that often accompanies the end of the academic year.

Utilizing an interactive approach, the workshop will help students to relieve stress with lighthearted activities such as finger painting and Play-Doh exercises.

In the midst of these fun activities, Pschirrer said, “We will be evaluating students’ stress levels with our stress-inventory test that measures the stress level of an individual.”

After taking the stress test, students will be able to consult handouts in order to see what they can do to lower their level of stress.

With fun activities, stress tests and candy giveaways, the workshop is designed to rejuvenate students’ minds for the last week of school.
