Newspaper announces staff for fall semester

The Daily Eastern News has announced its new staff for the fall 2002 semester.

Shauna Gustafson, a junior journalism major from Cherry Valley, will take over as editor in chief. Gustafson served as the managing editor for the spring 2002 semester. She also has served as editorial page editor, development director, city editor and administration editor. Gustafson is taking over for Bill Ruthhart, a senior journalism major from Rock Island.

Michelle Jones, a junior journalism and English major from Frankfort, will serve as managing editor for the fall semester. Jones previously worked as the editorial page editor, news editor, associate news editor, campus editor, student government editor and activities editor.

Jamie Fetty, a sophomore journalism major from Rock Island has been appointed as the news editor. Fetty previously held the positions of administration editor and student government editor.

Amber Williams, a junior journalism major from Mattoon, will be the associate news editor. Williams has held the positions of Verge editor and city editor.

Jessica Danielewicz, a junior journalism major from Roscoe, will be the editorial page editor. Danielewicz has been the student government editor and the campus editor.

Nate Bloomquist, a junior journalism major from Peru, will be sports editor. Bloomquist was previously the associate sports editor.

Matt Meinheit, a freshman journalism major from Peotone, will be associate sports editor. Meinheit was previously a staff writer.

Colin McAuliffe, a sophomore history major from Western Springs, will take over as photo editor. McAuliffe previously served as associate photo editor.

Caitlin Bullis, a freshman art education major from Arlington Heights, will be the associate photo editor. Bullis was previously a staff photographer.

Ben Erwin, a sophomore journalism major from Plainfield, will take over as Verge editor. Erwin previously was a staff writer and copy editor.

Heather Robinson, a freshman journalism major from Bethany, will serve as associate Verge editor. Robinson previously was the activities editor.

Maura Possley, a sophomore journalism and Spanish major from Oak Park, will serve as the city editor. Possley has held the position of campus editor.

Scott Miller, a junior journalism major from Kewanee, will be the administration editor. Miller has worked as the administration reporter.

Melissa Nielsen, a senior journalism major from Chicago, will take over as campus editor. Nielsen previously was the campus reporter.

Caitlin Prendergast, a junior journalism major from McHenry, will take over as activities editor. Prendergast previously was a staff writer.

Ben Tully, a senior journalism major from Wheaton, will be student government editor. Tully has served as associate Verge editor.

Alta King, a junior journalism major from Mattoon, will be features editor. King previously served as associate Verge editor and Verge editor.

Paul Franklin, a senior English major from Palos Hills, will be online editor.
