The second attempt at a search for an assistant vice president of academic affairs for technology will bring Michael Hoadley to campus Monday and Tuesday for interviews with various university groups and organizations.

In 1996, Hoadley became the co-director for the Center for Instructional Design and Delivery.

Currently, he is division chair for technology for training and development, as well as director of the Center for Interactive Technologies in Education and Corporations.

Although a doctorate is not required for this position, Hoadley received his in health and safety education from the University of Illinois in 1982. He has a master’s in school health education from U of I in 1980 and a bachelor’s in secondary mathematics education from U of I in 1978. All meetings will be in Conference Room 4440 of Booth Library. There will also be an open session interview for faculty and instructional support specialists at 3 p.m. in the library.

On Tuesday, Hoadley will also be on campus to interview with Blair Lord, vice president for academic affairs, at 8 a.m.

Last January, Lord announced that the search would reopen because the previous finalists would not be a good fit for Eastern.

The position’s responsibilities include managing the Center for Academic Technology Support, which helps faculty discover new technologies that may be used in the classroom, and providing support and information to students in online classes and programs.
