Women’s Advocacy Council gives awards as par tof women’s history month

The Women’s Advocacy Council will give out awards to students studying living history at its reception Thursday as part of March’s celebration of Women’s History and Awareness Month.

The reception will begin at 7 p.m. in the Tarble Arts Center.

As a prelude to the presentation of the awards, the living history students will perform and share their experiences in the schools where they performed, according to the March events calendar produced by Media Relations.

The living history students are all Eastern women who portrayed significant women in history. They traveled to local grade schools and performed as their designated women.

Awards presented at the reception include Women of Achievement Awards and Writing Awards. The Women’s Advocacy Council will present the awards, the events calendar said.

Refreshments will be provided.

Admission to the reception is free and open to the public.
