BACCHUS will hold bash

One of Eastern’s recognized student organizations will host a bash Wednesday to show students various ways to have a safe spring break.

BACCHUS will hold its Safe Spring Break Bash from 2 to 5 p.m. in 7th St. Underground, located in the basement of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union.

Activities will include seat belt relays, drunk driving simulations and a disc jockey. Information tables will be on exhibit to help students make safe decisions while on their spring vacations.

Door prizes also will be given throughout the event.

These prizes include gifts from Pizza Hut, E. L. Kracker’s, Fazoli’s, Cody’s, Show Place 8 in Mattoon, Alamo Steak House and more.

Katie Kittell, vice president of relations for BACCHUS, said the organization strives to promote safe health decisions.

“Over spring break, many students travel all over,” Kittell said. “The program will include important information that everyone who’s going on spring break should know, wherever you go.”

BACCHUS President Jessica Galloway said during BACCHUS’ Spring Break Bash, members will hand out information packets, beach balls and other fun items to all in attendance.

“It’s a good program to attend to learn how to be safe over your spring break,” Galloway said.

Admission is free and open to all Eastern students.
