Center hosting party tonight

Eastern’s Afro-American Culture Center will host its 15th Annual Children’s Christmas Party tonight. The party will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. tonight in the Afro-American Culture Center at 1525 Seventh Street.

Children of Eastern’s faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend, Claudia Lane, supervisor of the Afro-American Culture Center, said.

Santa Claus will also attend the party, Lane commented. In addition to jolly old St. Nick, Lane said that there will be plenty of holiday fun, games and food provided.

The goal of the party is to give parents a break and a little stress relief from the upcoming finals week and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

“It will be a time for parents to have an hour or so to prepare for finals and go shopping,” she said. “It will also be a fun time for the children.”

Lane commented that the Children’s Christmas Party is the main activity for the Culture Center’s graduate assistants to organize.

Those interested in bringing their children must reply to Claudia Lane at 581-6690 before attending the party.
