Applications available for Student Senate positions

Applications are now available for Student Senate member positions that were not filled during last week’s elections.

Four on-campus seats and four off-campus seats were left unfilled after the recent senate elections.

Anyone interested can pick up an application in the Student Activities Center located on the second floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union, Speaker of the Senate Joe Robbins said.

Applications will be due back on Jan. 14, and interviews should take place that week, Robbins said.

“It’s a really simple application process,” he said.

Any Eastern student who has at least a 2.25 grade point average is eligible, Robbins said.

Current committee chairs will be invited to sit in on interviews will be able to give Robbins input on who should be chosen and Robbins will make the final decision.

New senate members will start on the third meeting of the semester, which is Jan. 23.
